A Joburg based self-taught artist from Ivory Park Township, which is located in the East of Johannesburg. His works are characterized by the dominance of township ambience, which reflects the connection the artist has for his neighbourhood.
He draws inspiration from the day to day lives of ordinary people in the township and makes use of charcoal, watercolours & acrylics on paper to relate stories & experiences of the township lives. His style is characterized by firm charcoal strokes with soft shades combined with bright colours that bring an element of vibrance yet simple vividness.
I use my art as a tool to communicate emotions of hope & happiness despite the surrounding circumstances.
My inspiration is derived from the everyday experiences of the ordinary South Africans specifically the people in the townships.
Being it school uniformed children or just playful children in the dusty townships at times even the adults creating traffic in the streets as they run their daily errands.
My work is characterized by bright colours as I always seek to find the brighter side of Life “Where there is light, there is life & where there is life, there is inspiration and hope”
