Monique Boshoff
E-commerce and Web design specialist
Monique has been in the IT industry for over 15 years. Specialising in software, she has built 2 sales departments from the ground up and taken over a third sales department. During this time, she has come to know the intricate wants and needs of clients and end-users, dealing with many different industries.
Her introduction to web design in 2019 was when a close friend, who was a brilliant web developer, twisted her arm in doing a new website for one of their clients. Not saying no to a challenge – she did it, and found a passion for digital design and creating the client’s dream website.
Later that year, in 2019, she was sitting at a beautiful wine estate in Franschhoek, South Africa, enjoying its amazing food and wine and taking in the gorgeous surroundings, when something started to bother her. How could this amazing gem be so hidden? Why doesn’t everyone know about this beautiful place? Right there and then it became so clear that this wine farm (and many others, to start with) did not have an online presence and how important it is for any serious business owner to be found by the public when searched for, and the norm has come to be Google, where most searching starts.
Digging deeper and getting to know some of the available website builders, she quickly realised that a whole new world opened up – with endless possibilities. This shaped the idea of offering a much-needed service at incredible rates, because web design today is nothing like it used to be in the past.
Quickly becoming accustomed with powerful website builders and themes, such as WordPress, Shopify and Squarespace – even free software such as Wix and Ecwid, an incredible fact stared her right in the face. Gone are the days where websites had to be created from scratch with nothing but code, because website builders such as these have changed the industry around and saving clients as well as web designers a great deal of time but even more importantly, money.
Doing research and designing more websites, a new challenge popped up and she discovered a true passion for E-commerce websites, creating online stores for clients wishing to sell their products and services online as well.
Loving website builders and themes, she realised how beneficial it would be to get to know coding languages, because sometimes you need to do just a little bit more in the backend than being allowed by the theme, and a new interest was triggered. This would eventually enable Monique to make small changes by customising templates using code.
Today she is the proud owner of Grapeseedinc, having combined forces along the way with an incredibly talented social media expert, an extremely creative graphic designer and a dear friend with web development skills – just in case. Together this team of independent professionals offer the complete package with one main goal: to offer the best possible products, at the most competitive pricing, and deliver on time as promised.
Being a super nerd, Monique enjoys the outdoors very much because it’s all about “balance”. In her free time, she enjoys staying fit by running, mountain-biking, going on hiking trips, playing golf and squash.
